UD Outstanding Alumni Awards

The Outstanding Alumni Awards are presented annually at an awards ceremony during Alumni Weekend to an alumnus and alumna in recognition of their exemplary volunteer work on behalf of the University of Delaware and/or the University of Delaware Alumni Association. For over 50 years, the University of Delaware Alumni Association has honored University graduates with this award.

Past recipients have been honored for their Alumni Association activities and programs, leadership roles and dedication to reunions, college or department alumni activities, university steering committees and department steering committees, to name a few.

2018 Outstanding Alumni Award Recipients Honored

Mary Ann Hangen Blair, AS66, 82M, and Kenneth C. Jones, BE80, are the 2018 recipients of the UDAA Outstanding Alumni Award.

Mary Ann Hangen Blair earned her bachelor’s degree in 1966 and a master’s degree in business in 1982 from the University of Delaware. Mary Ann is retired from her position as director and owner of Financial House, a financial planning firm located in Centerville, Del., where she had worked since 1990. Mary Ann was an inaugural member of the College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Council, serving for two full terms from 2009 to 2013 and she returned to the council in 2017 for another term. From 2007 to 2010, she served as a board member on the UD Alumni Association.

Kenneth C. Jones earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1980 from the University of Delaware and went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Northern Colorado. Ken has been a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley since 2008 and was previously with Merrill Lynch. He is retired from the Delaware Army National Guard and was a pilot in the U.S. Army from 1983 to 1987. Ken volunteered with the Lerner Alumni Association and as a member of the UD Alumni Association from 2013 to 2017, serving as president from 2013 to 2015.
