Inherit the Wind Saturday Symposium

Saturday, March 23, 2019 | 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Roselle Center for the Arts | 110 Orchard Road, Newark, DE 19716

Join New Castle County Blue Hens and friends for a fascinating day exploring the debates over science vs. religion and free speech vs. academic freedom, covering events from the famed Scopes “Monkey Trial” to the present day. You will be treated to a series of guest lecturers, lunch and conclude your day with a matinee performance of Inherit the Wind, UD Resident Ensemble Players’ depiction of the legendary Scopes trial.

Cost: $35; includes symposium, play ticket and lunch.

Note: Registration deadline is Thursday, March 21, 2019. Seating requests may be made at the time of registration.

Wine Tasting Class

Sunday, March 24, 2019 | 3–5 p.m.

Vino Vita at Fromage Culinaria | 400 South Ridge Avenue, Middletown, DE 19709

Trying to fill that Sunday void now that football season is over? Join us for an educational wine tasting at Vino Vita at Fromage Culinaria in Middletown! You will have a blast sampling four-to-five different wines with fellow Blue Hens while learning all about where they are from, the different flavors you taste and more!

Cost: $35; includes cheese pairings
$5 of each registration will go to the Delaware Fund, supporting current UD students in need.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, March 20, 2019. No walk-ups allowed. Limit four tickets per party.

Dinner at Vita Nova with New Castle County Blue Hens

Thursday, April 25, 2019 | 6–9 p.m.

As Blue Hens you know that when it comes to fine dining, Vita Nova lives up to the hype! So come join the New Castle County Alumni Club for our annual spring dinner at UD’s student-operated, award-winning restaurant. This evening of great food, conversation and entertainment includes a cocktail hour with cooking demonstration, dinner with paired wines, a performance by UD musicians, talks by student chefs and department chairs, and the opportunity to meet and mingle with other alumni.

Cost: $45; $10 of every registration will support the Delaware Fund, directly benefiting students in need.

Delaware to the World: Newark/Wilmington

University of Delaware faculty will present a series of TED Talk-style sessions and bring to life a variety of intriguing, groundbreaking topics of interest to every Blue Hen. The cost for each evening is $20 and includes heavy hors d'oeuvres, beer and wine.
