Georgetown Foodie Tour

Saturday, June 24
11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Location: Meet at intersection of 28th St NW and Pennsylvania Ave NW

Cost: $40 (includes four portions and one alcoholic pairing, as well as gratuity)

Join fellow alumni for a walking food tour of Georgetown!

Taste cuisine from various local eateries and burn off calories walking through the Georgetown area. Awarded the Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor in 2016, Mangia DC’s Georgetown Food Tour pays tribute to the 1920’s era when the neighborhood was the local food commerce area of the district. A knowledgeable guide with a passion for food will guide us to learn about the history and culture of the Georgetown area while we stop for tastings at eateries large enough for a full meal.

A portion of the restaurant sales will be donated to So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E) to help feed the less fortunate.

Total length of the tour is over a mile and will take approximately 3 to 3½ hours. Tour will begin promptly at 11:30, but please arrive at 11:00.

Dress code is casual.

Mangia DC is able to provide food substitutions. Please indicate any allergies when you sign up for the event.

Directions:
From Metro's Orange Line, take the Foggy Bottom exit. Head north on 23rd St. NW for 407 ft. At the traffic circle, take the 5th exit onto Pennsylvania Ave NW. Walk for half a mile to a small park across the street from the Four Seasons at the intersection of 28th St NW and Pennsylvania Ave NW.

Refund deadline is June 9, 2017.

Thanks to the UDAA for their generous support of this event!

Registration closes June 23, 2017. Unfortunately, walk-ins will not be permitted.

Community River Clean-up at Ballpark Boathouse

Sunday, July 30
9:30 – 11:00 a.m.

Ballpark Boathouse (Potomac Ave SE, Washington, DC 20003)

Cost: Free

Paddlers, outdoor enthusiasts and environmentalists unite! As lovers of the waters, our hearts cry a little bit with each piece of trash we see floating on the river. In an effort to make a positive impact on our community and make new friends, we are partnering with the American Canoe Association to run a regular community clean-up on the Anacostia River.

Grab some friends and join us at Ballpark Boathouse and see what community and fun is all about!

Transportation: Closest metro is Navy Yard Metro on the green line. Metered parking is available and free on Sundays. (Nationals Baseball does have a home game that day, so we recommend using public transportation.)

Registration closes July 23, 2017. Unfortunately, walk-ins will not be permitted.

Join a Committee

The UD DC Alumni Club is growing and we need your help! For those of you that want to help but don't have a lot of time, we've created two committees: the Social Committee and the University Committee. The Social Committee will help plan and run happy hours, game watches, cultural and similar events. The University Committee will help with our new community service and other UD engagements.

Committees are the easiest way to bring new ideas to the club as our membership is rapidly growing. If you have an interest, please email alumnet@udel.edu.

Coach's Corner

The DC Club offers its members the unique opportunity to compete in co-ed social sports leagues throughout the year. These leagues provide an excellent opportunity to meet and mingle with other local DC Blue Hens. The club competes in all five CAN sports leagues:
