Saturday Symposium: Reflections on the Civil Rights Movement

Saturday, October 7, 2017

Presented by UD College of Arts & Sciences

Saturday, October 7
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Roselle Center for the Arts (110 Orchard Road, Newark, DE 19711)

Cost: $35

Join UD alumni and friends for a day of exploration focused on the Civil Rights Movement and the relationship between theatre and political life and social justice. Engage with UD faculty on issues surrounding the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King and the 1960s, the role of charismatic leaders in our culture, and social change and the arts.

The day will culminate in a matinee performance of the University of Delaware Resident Ensemble Players production of The Mountaintop, a fictional reimagining of Martin Luther King’s last night on earth. A talk-back session with the actors after the play gives you the opportunity to further explore the themes of the play and ask questions about the production in an informal setting.

Refund deadline is October 3, 2017.

Registration closes October 3, 2017. Unfortunately, walk-ins will not be permitted.
