Learn about making smarter investments, better managing your personal finances, understanding today's health insurance options and maintaining a stronger healthy work-life balance.

6:00 – 7:00 p.m.: Networking Hour (includes professional headshot, hors d’oeuvres and open bar with beer and wine)
7:15 – 8:00 p.m.: Session I – Personal Finance or Health Insurance
8:15 – 9:00 p.m.: Session II – Financial Investments or Work/Life Balance

Meet Our Speakers:

Lisa Edwards, EG95

Lisa Edwards is the Manager of Financial Analysis at the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation in Washington, D.C. where she is responsible for providing financial analysis and support to the Corporation’s multi-billion dollar portfolio. Her areas of focus include risk management, financial and business analysis, technology and capital markets. Lisa graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Economics. She received her MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Lisa is also a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) and Certified Treasury Professional® (CTP) designations. In 2017, Lisa received the Certificate of Financial Planning from Georgetown University.

Tara Pellet, AS91

Tara Pellet is the Assistant Vice President at AHT, a full-service insurance brokerage and consulting firm. Tara helps customers overcome the challenges they face when designing and administering benefit programs. She is a hands-on leader who focuses on perfecting each transaction for optimal efficiency. Tara holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware, a Master of Education from Cabrini College and a master's degree in Human Science from Hood College.  She has also completed the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification SHRM-CP.  Her dedication to the HR profession has led her to serve on the board of three SHRM chapters.

Beth McGarry, HS75

Beth McGarry has been employed for 25 years at the U.S. Department of Justice as a trial attorney and senior executive. Beth is a sought-after mentor and is a certified CliftonStrengths® coach. She delights in fostering a climate of work-life balance. Beth graduated from the University of Delaware  with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. After an eight-year career as a public health nurse, Beth received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Public Transportation: Gallery Place & Judiciary Square Metro stops are within walking distance.

This event is open to alumni and their guests age 21 and older.

Registration closes March 14, 2018. Unfortunately, walk-ins will not be permitted.
