Edward Hopper and the American Hotel at the VMFA with Richmond Blue Hens

Thursday, January 23, 2020 | 6–9 p.m.

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts | 200 North Arthur Ashe Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220

Join Blue Hens and friends for an evening at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to see the premiere of Edward Hopper and the American Hotel. This exhibition is the first in-depth study of hospitality settings depicted in the works of one of America’s most celebrated artists. Best known for his oil paintings and depiction of modern American life, Hopper’s immersion in the world of hotels, motels, hospitality services and mobility in general presents a new framework for understanding the artist’s work.

After taking in the exhibit, join your fellow UD alumni at Best Café for appetizers and a cash bar. We hope to see you there!

Cost: $15 for non VMFA members; $10 for VMFA members

Note: Registration deadline is January 20, 2020. Refund deadline is January 9, 2020. No walk-ups permitted. Limit four tickets per party. Additional cost for parking and cash bar.

Special thanks to the UDAA for their support of this event.
