UDress Magazine held a spring magazine release party on April 28, 2008, to celebrate the release of the magazine's eighth issue. The theme for the event, "Imagination," complemented the 40-plus page fashion publication, in which writers encouraged readers to imagine fashion as art. The party featured a battle of the bands competition in which local bands competed in the categories of best original song and best Beatles cover. Attendees were invited to participate in a tie-dye station and taste "Imagination"-inspired food throughout the day. UDress is a University of Delaware student organization that was founded in 2006.
