UDAA Pre-game Event at Women's Basketball

Prior to watching the Blue Hens take on VCU, join the UD Alumni Association (UDAA) for a pregame lunch in the lobby of the new addition of the Bob Carpenter Center. The buffet lunch consists of cheese steak egg rolls, BBQ braised pork belly on mini biscuits, mozzarella, tomato and basil skewers, assorted mini ciabatta sandwiches, field greens salad, couscous salad, kettle chips, mini cupcakes and cookies and non-alcoholic drinks.
Coach Tina Martin will make an appearance at 12:30 to talk about the program and provide some insight on team tactics and plays. All attendees are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness (click here for more info about this special game). All luncheon guests will receive a special giveaway provided by the UDAA and tours of the new facility will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you already have a ticket to the game, you can just purchase a lunch pass, but you will need your game ticket to enter the Bob. Tickets purchased as part of this event will be available for pick up at the event registration tables when you arrive. Children age 1 and younger need not purchase a game ticket nor pay for lunch.
Pasta & Sauces Cooking Demo

Did you always want to know how to prepare pasta al denté? Looking for a new sauce recipe? Join fellow Blue Hens for a homemade pasta and sauces demo hosted by Debbie Ellingsworth '77, chef-instructor at Vita Nova. Debbie will demonstrate how to make everyday pasta more fun, including how to make different shapes and use different fillings while share showing helpful cooking techniques along the way. She will also demonstrate gnocchi and will show you how to prepare a couple of different sauces. Plus, each participant will enjoy a tasting portion of each item made.
Cost is $30 per person which includes a special YoUDee apron or $20 without the apron. Register early, as this event is limited to 22 attendees.

About Debbie Ellingsworth
Debbie graduated from the Baltimore International Culinary College and has been with the UD Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management (HRIM) Department since 1997. She is one of four HRIM faculty members who teach the culinary laboratories held in Vita Nova and is also a co-instructor in the Senior Practicum. She previously worked as the kitchen manager and chef for Pizza by Elizabeths, has hosted numerous cooking demonstrations locally, and has served as a culinary consultant for many local restauranteurs.
